Built in 1939 and Named for James F. Byrnes, former S.C. governor and U.S. Secretary of State. Byrnes exemplifies the monumental architectural style prevalent in Depression-era public buildings. Byrnes Auditorium Houses the David Bancroft Johnson Memorial Organ, an Aeolian Skinner valued today at $500,000 and containing more than 5,000 pipes in 78 ranks. It is considered one of the largest and finest instruments in the South.

CENTER FOR THE ARTS

Managed by the Arts Council of York County and located in the newly renovated downtown area, the Center for the Arts is housed in two restored 100-year old buildings. The Center houses the offices of the Arts Council of York County, the Dalton Gallery, the Edmund Lewandowski Classroom and private artist studios. The Dalton Gallery features 7-8 exhibitions each year from local, regional, national and international artists.

COMMUNITY PERFORMANCE CENTER

The Arts Council of York County's Community Performance Center is the newest addition to the York County arts scene! Fully operational since September 2009, the new Community Performance Center features over 150 seats when set as an auditorium and hosts a variety of music, theatre and dance performances. The CPC is also the new home for both the York County Ballet and the Rock Hill Community Theatre.
